A FEW WORDS

Judging from the bios and accomplishments of other artists on these pages,

I am just getting off the starting line.  Photography has always been an interest of mine.

Since receiving that infamous “golden handshake” from the workforce several years back,

thought I might try my hand at the digital imaging and computer generated art mediums.

It is a very enjoyable pastime and has its rewards.  Those sought after acceptances in

national and international photo exhibitions as well as the odd sale.  My electronic darkroom

is basic, a PC, flatbed scanner, inkjet printer and an assortment of imaging software options.

Monochrome is probably my favourite format, especially for expressing the daily conflicts of

everyday life. Surrealism is a close second.  Both styles stimulate the viewers’ thoughts and

hopefully, conjure up all sorts of opinions.

At heart, I’m a BLUES fanatic so I try to inject emotion into my work or some story telling

quality.  Occasionally, fantasy creeps into my images.  It is usually inspired by news media

and its coverage of such things as genetic engineering, clone creation, search for alien life

and other such things.

I think tampering with nature or trying to emulate a God like power is a dangerous territory.

Engineering “pixels” is a helluva lot safer than “genes”, as it is possible the inevitable will happen

one day and when it does, we will more than likely have ventured far beyond the point of no return.

Out of control ‘pixels’ can always be dumped into the recycle bin without any dangers whatsoever.

 Think about it!

PIX are more informative and interesting than words.  So… on with your visit to my gallery.

Hope it is an enjoyable one and that what you see stirs your imagination...
